GREATER GOOD

TENNIS = LIFE

A life lived through tennis has shown me the true value of the sport.

tennis has the power to change lives.

I know this personally of course, but have also seen firsthand how powerful of a vehicle tennis can be for others in their lives.

The “greater good” is where I expand on my journey to help people grow through tennis. This where I highlight success stories—do-gooders, inspirational figures, and any other instances of tennis making a positive impact that I can find.

This is where I expand beyond my role as a local coach, and try to give back to the game that’s given me so much.

Read up on these organizations, and feel free to spread the word. I can vouch from firsthand experience that each of these guys are doing tremendous things to help people through tennis.

  • East Palo Alto Tennis and Tutoring

    EPATT is a free program facilitating college, career, and life readiness for under resourced kids in the Bay Area. I know this program personally, having shared court time at Stanford University, and have seen firsthand the great work they do.

  • Border Youth Tennis Exchange

    BYTE is a cross-border youth organization that offers tennis and academic classes on both sides of the US/Mexico border in Nogales Arizona and Nogales Sonora Mexico. My good friend Charlie Cultler started it up and they’re doing great things on both sides of the border. Charlie is easy one of the best doubles players in CA (if he’s in shape).

  • Court Crashers

    Court Crashers is a YouTube show that I started with my good friend and fellow coach, Gustavo Sanchez. “Court Crashing” involves going up to total strangers and offering free tennis lessons, and is way more nerve wracking than any tennis match I’ve ever played.
